You call this Spring???!!!

It's snowing...that's not what I call Spring!!!  Not fair!

I'm sorry I haven't been around much this past week, I've been down and out with a head/chest infection.  I'm just now starting to feel semi-normal (if that's even possible).  Now my little boy has the same thing, it's certainly made it's rounds in the house.  Anyway, just wanted to let you know I'm still here, just trying to rest and re-coup so I can get back to business.

Thanks!

Anything but a card...

That's right, Lindsay challenged us to create anything but a card and that's just what I did.  I created a paper flower jar for my many, many paper flowers.  I just don't like dumping them all out to find the one I want so I used a wide mouth jar (it's a pickle jar) so I can just reach my hand in and grab the one I want.
I used Doodle Flowers from Lindsay's Stamp Stuff and made it 3-dimensional by popping a second flower over the original and adding a fun corduroy brad to the center.  I typed up "Paper Flowers" on my computer with the Curlz font.  I painted the lid of my jar with CTMH's Create-a-Shade pearl paint with a few drops of Holiday Red re-inker to make it pink to match my paper from The Paper Studio.  The ribbon around the rim of the lid is from JoAnn's and the brads are from CTMH.  The circle sentiment on top is also from Doodle Flowers.

Here is a picture of the top of my flower jar

Mother's Day Magnolia

In Europe Mother's Day is in March, I live in the US and it's in May, since I can't get a Mother's Day card for my Nana in Scotland I decided to make my own.  Now I know it's past already but we usually send her cards in May so that's what this one is for.  My mum will be heading there in a couple of weeks and will be taking this with her so I wanted to get it on my blog before it was gone!

I used one of my favorite Magnolia's on this card.  I colored her in greens and when I made my card I was sure I had done her in blue's but she does match.  The paper I used is from TLC and the flowers are from CTMH and Prima.  The little charm is also from CTMH.  Ribbon is from TLC.  I colored her with copics.  She is popped off the page for a more dimensional look.  There is a ribbon slide under the knot and the safety pin to hold the charm that says LOVE.  I used little pearls on each of the flowers on the card.

It started out as a standard card like the one shown in the photograph but has since then been converted to an easel card so my Nana can display it!

I colored her with copic markers.  I will give the details of the colors I used below the photograph.

Monochromatic Magnolia...

Whew!  Say that 3 times fast...

I created this easel card today using only black, white, gray, and red. It's my take on a monochromatic card with a touch of red.  I saw someone else color an image in all grays and I absolutely loved it (I'm sorry, I can't remember who it was and I scoured the internet looking too).  I used a Magnolia image and Copic colors C1, C3, C5 and C7.  I also used the Copic Spica Glitter Pens for her wings and the hearts but it may be hard to see in the pictures.  The paper is from DCWV Glitter Stack and CTMH. Flowers are from Prima and the sentiment, safety pin and charm are from CTMH.

This is my 2nd Tilda and my first try at the easel card and I'm quite pleased *toot toot*

I hope you like her! And guess what?  I have no idea what I'm going to do with her!

Easy directions for the ever popular Easel Card from SCS...

Ever wondered how to make the ever popular Easel Card everyone is making?  Well, here are some easy to follow instructions from Split Coast Stampers:

Hoppy Easter

Today Lindsay challenged us to create something with Easter as the theme.  This is my project for this challenge.  It's an Easter basket made from card stock.  I used the tutorial from Whimsie Doodles Tuesday Tutorial found here.  It was so easy to follow and such fun to make.  The image I used is a cute little bunny from Lindsay's Stamp Stuff called Cute Easter. I adhered him to a jumbo paper clip and clipped him to the back of the basket.  I made the grass from green card stock that I cut into thin strips and crumpled with my hands.  Great way to relieve some stress :) The sentiment I typed up myself on my computer using the
"cracked" font.  I inked the edges a bit with Amethyst ink from Close To My Heart and popped it off the front of the basket.  I hope you'll try this easy basket and use the cute Easter images from Lindsay's Stamp Stuff.
