...still remains a secret!

This is the card I made for my mom and dad for their 32nd Anniversary tomorrow, yep, they were married on St. Patrick's Day and on a ship no less!  How fun!
Ok, back to my card...I used the Secret to Marriage digi stamp from Bugaboo.  This is also for the challenge this week on the Catch The Bug Challenge Blog.  Check it out!

Need a Gift Bag?

Here you will find a tutorial on how to create a gift bag using an envelope! 

Yes, you read right, an envelope can be turned into a small gift bag.  Just decorate and you're ready to go.  Below are the details and some pics to follow along with. 

Step 1. Start with a plain envelope

Step 2. Print out a fun Digital image like the one I have chosen here from 

Lindsay's Stamp Stuff  called Coffee Talk 

Step 3. Seal the envelope

Step 4. Using decorative scissors, cut the top of the envelope off

Step 5. Fold in both sides and the bottom of the envelope about 3/4" to 1" 

(please forgive the lighting, my camera went funny on me)

Step 6. This is where it can get tricky.  Stick your hand down inside the envelope (I used a letter sized envie and my hand didn't fit very well LOL) 

Push the bottom of the bag up to make a flat surface, also push out the sides to create the "bag" look. Taking the bottom corners, fold them in towards each other and adhere with glue dots or double stick tape. 

Step 7. This is what the envelope should look like if you have done the steps correctly

Step 8. Now you can color your image (if you haven't done this already)

Step 9. Punch two holes either on the top of the bag to create handles, or as I have done here, fold the flap over and punch holes to thread ribbon through. 

(please forgive the black smear, my punch did it, not me LOL)

This is what the finished product should look like.  You're envelopes can be any size depending on what size bag you need.  You can use the big mailing envelopes for a larger bag or the small invitation envelopes for a small bag. I hope you will give this a try, it's fun to create your own bag and matching card for a very special friend :)

Sock Monkey Birthday Card

Who doesn't love Sock Monkey's? I think they are so darn cute and this image is no exception!  This is Sock Monkey Girl Sitting from Bugaboo Stamps.  I made this card for my niece's 6th birthday.  I think it's perfect for any occasion really.
I popped her head and arms to make her look more realistic.  What do you think?

Hug a Cat!

I simply can't let this card go unnoticed :) I love the little girl hugging the cat.  It reminds me so much of when I was a little girl.  Cat's make me happy!  This stamp set, Jesse Hugs A Cat  was a freebie from Clipart and Scrap!  Check them out!

I also distressed the edges using one of those neat edge distressers that tears up your paper.
Although you can't see it (at all) the image was popped off the page for a more dimensional look.

I'm SEW Happy!

Here is my very first card as a design team member over at Lindsay's Stamp Stuff.  Our theme for the week was to use sewing on our project (real or stamped) I chose stamped as I fight with a sewing maching and I always LOSE!  This was such a fun stamp set to use.  I layered up the flower as much as I could.  I also used the ribbon for the stem rather than using the one from the stamp.  I do like how this card turned out.  It's simple yet says it all!

Are ya feeling luck? Well, are ya???

I just LOVE this image from Bugaboo Stamps. She's the March Calendar Girl. Isn't she great!!?? I used my copics to color her in, I pop dotted her dress (hard to see in the pic) so the bottom is actually out farther than her top and her waist is glued down, I promise, it's really neat in person, I also added some great little pearl dots for her shoes and some little prima flowers from CTMH to line the edge. I'd love to tell you where I got the paper and mesh but I can't remember cause I've had it for so long but I found it just in time for this card. I hope you like it!

You Shine card with Superstar Anya from TGF

Ok, this has got to be the WORST lighting ever.

Now that I got that off my chest, here is my Superstar Anya card from The Greeting Farm. I just LOVE her! Why didn't I find her sooner!!
I colored her with my copics (of course, that's all I use). She is stamped in black and cut out and placed on white CS from CTMH. I then created a sidewalk around her (I learned how to do that from an awesome tutorial on youtube). The YOU SHINE sentiment is from Close To My Heart as well as the red CS and the star stamp. The stars at the top of the card are popped up for a more 3-D feel. I am going to use this card for a random stamping swap I am in. Hope you like it!!
